The name Walkers is recognized worldwide as a symbol of excellence, known as a true Scottish classic. Although the Walker family has expanded their product range, each item adheres to their core values of quality and natural goodness. Walkers' shortbread is made with only four simple ingredients: flour, pure creamy butter, sugar, and salt. Their products contain no artificial flavorings, colorings, or preservatives, and are even kosher certified.

BRAND STORY The Walkers story began over a century ago in 1898, in the Scottish Highlands, when the 21-year-old Joseph Walker opened his own bakery with a £50 loan, driven by the dream of creating the finest shortbread in the world. In the first year, Joseph dedicated every spare moment to perfecting his shortbread recipe, and his efforts paid off. As his fame grew and demand increased, Joseph expanded the business, moving to a larger shop in Aberlour and investing in a horse and cart to deliver his baking further afield.

During the 1930s, the business continued to grow, with two of Joseph's sons, James and Joseph, joining the company and bringing fresh, new ideas. By 1936, they had introduced a range of cakes, confectionery, and the company's first delivery van, allowing Walkers' products to reach an even wider market.

While some manufacturers began compromising quality, Joseph remained committed to using only the finest ingredients and adhering to his original recipe, even after his passing in 1954. His sons followed in his footsteps, and by the 1960s, all three of James' children – Joseph, James, and Marjorie – had joined the family business, representing the third generation of Walkers.

As the demand grew, the company outgrew its bakery and moved to a custom-built factory in 1975, which provided the space and facilities needed to develop new products, such as Chocolate Chip Shortbread and specialty cookies. By the 1970s, Joseph's grandchildren had begun exporting Walkers' shortbread to over 60 countries, still baking to his original recipe, and earning three Queen's Awards for Export Achievement.

Today, the fourth generation of Walkers continues the family tradition, creating a range of products that are tested and approved by the villagers of Aberlour. Walkers' commitment to quality, natural ingredients, and traditional recipes has made them the choice of the most discerning customers and retailers worldwide.

ZESTY GINGER MEETS RICH SHORTBREAD: Bits of real Australian stem ginger combine with the subtle richness of Walkers' delicious traditional shortbread, creating thin, crisp rounds that perfectly balance sugar and spice.

DELIGHTFUL GINGER: Walkers' Stem Ginger cookies are delightfully crunchy, with succulent stem ginger pieces that add a delicious ginger flavor, perfect for crumbling over custards or ice cream, or enjoying as a dunkable treat.

COOKIES FROM THE SCOTTISH HIGHLANDS: Walkers' cookies are made using only the finest ingredients, free from GMOs, suitable for vegetarians, and Kosher OU approved.

SCOTTISH BAKING AT ITS FINEST: Walkers offers a variety of shortbread, oat crackers, and other baked snacks, from Shortbread Fingers and Scottie Dogs to Highland Oat Crackers and Scottish Cookies.

A TRADITION OF QUALITY: Since 1898, the Walker family has been committed to using quality methods, ingredients, and traditional Scottish recipes to create their classic shortbread cookies.
